Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved cartoons and animation. Watching animated shows inspired me to start doodling my own goofy characters, and eventually I began experimenting with animation just to see if I could bring them to life myself.
BrightlyTooned is where I share my imagination and stories through drawings, comics, short animations, character designs, and other art projects. Each piece is a chance to learn something new, experiment with different ideas, and continue improving while enjoying the process of creating.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy exploring BrightlyTooned!
You might have noticed the strange little creature wandering all around the website. That's Zak!
Zak started out as a character I created 11 years ago for a 6-panel comic competition at school. Even after the competition ended, I kept drawing him because I really liked the design and the character. Over time, Zak became my online avatar and eventually the official mascot of BrightlyTooned.
As for what Zak actually is... that's a good question. He's a weird little alien creature that looks kind of like a goat, and that's really about it.
You'll probably be seeing a lot more of Zak in future comics, animations, and other projects.
Zak first appeared in a 6-panel comic I made back in 2015.
The original story follows Zak and his friend Mew as they crash-land on Earth. They befriend a boy named Billy, but their adventure takes a turn when they are captured by two scientists. With Billy's help, Zak and Mew escape and eventually make their way back home.
A lot has changed since then, and this comic is no longer considered "canon". The lore has been updated, the universe has changed, and some things are best left in the past... especially some of these early ideas.
